ARTSFEST Third & Fairfax is an annual event hosted by ART 94124. The goal of this year's inaugural event, held on June 21, was three-fold: (1) to bring the entire Bayview community together to celebrate art, (2) to formally open the only community-run art gallery in Bayview-Hunters Point, and (3) to establish and publicize ART 94124 as a catalyst for future community art projects and art-related events.

ARTSFEST Third & Fairfax's main event was the art gallery opening at 3900B Third Street. The adjacent street (Fairfax) was closed off as a temporary community gathering space. Along the sidewalk were arts and crafts vendors selling their goods, a grill where hotdogs and vegetables were grilled and given away, and a stage on which a series of bands played throughout the afternoon. There were activities for children, including a silk-screening station, chalk art, and a temporary mural installation project.

Thanks to the volunteers, to the community residents and neighbors, and to all the attendees, for making our first annual ARTSFEST a unique and memorable event. We're looking forward to hosting the event again next year.
